Top 5 Reasons You Should Attend a HubSpot User Group Meeting
At Cloudburst, we use HubSpot to manage our Inbound marketing including our social media, email marketing, search engine optimization, lead nurturing and content marketing.
Today, we attended the first #HUGVancouver event – that is – the first HubSpot User Group held in Vancouver and hosted by Maximizer Software. HubSpot user groups are customer-driven and meet regularly to talk about HubSpot, strategies surrounding the marketing automation platform and to share Inbound marketing best practices with each other.
Today’s meeting focused around getting to know each other and how each of the companies in attendance is utilizing the HubSpot software. I believe each person in the room came away with a better understanding of how other companies are using HubSpot and answers to common questions all marketers ask ourselves each day – “How often should I be emailing my database?” and “How do you define marketing or sales qualified lead?”. These are just some of the questions that were discussed and it was interesting to hear the different opinions and strategies that are used to provide solutions to these questions (I’ll be posting blog posts on these topics shortly!).
The enthusiasm about Inbound marketing at today’s event was exciting, and we think you would enjoy it too, so here are our top 5 reasons to attend the next HubSpot User Group in your area. Not a HubSpot user? Don’t worry, these groups are useful for you too.
1. Learn about Inbound Marketing
The world of marketing has shifted from an Outbound marketing approach to an Inbound one. These groups will give you the opportunity to share thoughts and ideas with people who are already using Inbound marketing tactics to drive leads through their websites. Learn how they do it, the results they’ve obtained from using Inbound marketing, and get your online marketing questions answered from experts in the room.
2. Get up-to-speed on Marketing Automation
In addition to the shift to Inbound, there is also a shift taking place in the use of marketing technology. Marketing Automation and being able to deliver relevant meaningful content directly to an ideal customer is the goal of implementing marketing automation strategies. Using marketing automation software also simplifies the marketing processes you are likely already doing in many different pieces of software.
3. Learn how to turn your website into a lead-generation machine
Being a marketer at a B2B company, you likely rely on driving leads and interest through your website. There is no other marketing method more effective in doing this than the Inbound marketing method and using the pieces of it – search engine optimization, email marketing, social media & blogging – to drive leads through your website. And because all of these marketing tactics take place online, you’re able to provide closed-loop reporting to your higher-ups on exactly where your leads came from and which marketing tactics are working, making you look like a rockstar.
4. Get answers to your top online marketing questions
The one problem we struggle with daily at Cloudburst is how quickly online marketing tactics can change, and how important it is to remain up-to-date on the latest know-how while still providing scalable Inbound marketing services to our clients.
What we’ve learned over the years is if you have questions other marketers will have the same ones. Attending a user group such as the one today will allow you to come away with solutions and insight from knowledgable people and be better able to formulate a plan on how to tackle your own questions and problems.
5. Learn how to align sales and marketing
Aligning a sales and marketing team is difficult and historically, these two teams have been at odds with each other. Nicknames such as “the arts and crafts department” and “cold-calling-quota-chasing-morons” have been exchanged, but that is the old-school approach to lead generation.
Inbound marketing is about aligning your marketing and sales teams into what I like to call the demand generation team. When you have a team of aligned individuals working towards achieving a common business goal, your company profits.
Attending a HubSpot User Group can give insight into how other companies have dealt with the issue of sales and marketing alignment, how they work at solving it, and how it ties into Inbound marketing performance and accountability.
